About analytics
I got an email from someone in Portugal that really made me pause and think. They were asking why a platform like Lykhari doesn't offer a more ethical approach to analytics, something different from Google Analytics. For context, Lykhari lets you use your own Google Analytics account. Google Analytics is everywhere, it's a giant. I chose it to keep costs down and because it's what most people know. But it's kind of the opposite of what Lykhari stands for. Lykhari is simple, and Google Analytics? It's anything but. It's bulky, not privacy-friendly, and thrives on ads, cookies, and tracking. Privacy-focused browsers often block it. Now, I'm thinking about the next steps. Should I let people use their own scripts for analytics, or should we build our own analytics within Lykhari? The second option is cleaner, offers a better user experience but might lack some advanced features. The first one is more flexible but could be overwhelming for most of our users. Maybe the answer is a bit of both. Using scripts could open up possibilities beyond just analytics, while built-in analytics could offer a straightforward solution that meets nearly all our users' needs.
