On quest to build a simple blogging platform for beginners
Lykhari is an alternative blogging platform that gives you the necessary control in a way that helps the sites credibility and not wreck it. It's by far one of the easiest yet powerful blog site out there.
When people think about building a blog, a lot of them have WordPress in mind. For anyone starting out, WordPress is actually not bad. It kind of works but the time it takes a beginner to become intermediate in blogging, WordPress forces you to become intermediate at many other things as well.
That is my problem with WordPress. For blogging, you really want to focus on writing or generating content. WordPress presses you to understand code, SEO, optimization, CSS, HTML, plug-ins, JavaScript and what not. It forces you to know things that 99% of the population doesn't know and doesn't care.
As you publish a few posts and aspire to grow WordPress feels like it starts to work against you. Pulling you down. You feel an invisible force, a friction that drains the life and soul out of you. Instead of putting all your energies in writing, you are constantly fumbling around with non necessary nonsense.
I felt that when I used WordPress. It motivated me to build a platform that is open yet simple. Something that works for you and not against you. Something with minimal friction and doesn't indulge you in the unnecessary. WordPress gives you optionality and flexibility but it comes at the cost of your focus. Focus is of supreme importance.
When you are writing and all you need to grow is to produce extremely valuable and useful writing. That CSS change that WordPress allows you to make can cost you a rank in SEO and most people don't know that. The text on your website will help you grow but the colors on your website, not so much.
With Lykhari, I am on a quest to build a blogging platform that helps beginners produce better content, grow their audience, and grow as humans. It is simple and easy to use and becomes even more useful at scale. It cuts all the unnecessary optionality that pulls you down. Which is why I made a deliberate choice to not allow customization which users can use to unknowingly harm their reach.
Lykhari has a simple and powerful editor, simple page structure, option to modify your home page, build blog posts, build pages, hook custom domain, and quite a room for customizing how you present your site. In doing so, I did in a way so it doesn't hurt the blogs overall experience. We take care of all the technicals so you don't have to worry about them. With WordPress, Wix, Webflow, Squarespace, Ghost, and many other platforms, it's possible to do things that you may find out years later that your changes rekt the sites credibility in eyes of Google and other search engines.
